-Have you been struggling with high levels of stress?
-Fraught with excessive worry and guilt?
-Having difficulty being assertive?
-Feeling more down and withdrawn than usual?

Short-term therapy can help with all of these issues.

You don't have to be in therapy for years to make progress and experience significant symptom reduction. As a psychotherapist in San Francisco emphasizing cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, my goal is to help clients feel better and function better in as short of a time frame as possible.

Short-term therapy typically consists of 10-20 targeted and goal-directed sessions, with homework assignments given in between. This approach can be effective with mild-moderate forms of stress, anxiety and depression, as well as adjustment difficulties to life transitions. For more complicated or long-standing issues, it can take more time to effect lasting change. Alternatively, some clients start out with a short-term focus, achieve their initial objectives and decide to continue with therapy to pursue further personal growth and development.
